At reportedly 4 a.m., Police and other U.S. Occupational Government workers were found dismantling community built centres on and near Mauna Kea. There have also been claims that Ahu and other religious structures have been dismantled and destroyed.

Reactions have been varied but all carry similar outrage. Comments on social media contain various messages from, “What a chicken sh*t move…” to “We will rebuild again!” Others have pointed out that this raid and destruction of religious structures in particular is a clear violation of protected Hawaiian Rights codified in the U.S. Occupational Government’s Hawaii State Constitution.

All of this is ahead of a Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) Water Permit Hearing on Tuesday June 25th, 5 p.m. at the West Hawaii Civic Center Council Chambers Kailua Kona, Moku o Keawe.
